When school exams are approaching and your child is not studying enough, here's what you can do:
  • Set aside a quiet time for the whole family - no TV, no radios, no interruptions
  • Help your child divide the work into manageable "chunks"
  • Provide a reward for completing each chunk (gold stars, family fun, a simple compliment, even money!)
Remember: We all want to be better parents - but kids don't come with an instruction manual.

When prom time is fast approaching, and your teenager, and your teenager wants to stay out all night, here's what you can do:
  • Call the other parents in the group and agree upon a plan of action, including a curfew
  • Find out where your teens are going, and have them check in at an appointed time
  • Consider renting a beeper or pager for the night. It will make you feel more secure
Remember: We all want to be better parents - but kids don't come with an instruction manual.
