When your children fight with each other, here's what you can do:
  • Remember, most siblings fight. Get used to it!
  • Set a rule about safety: when there's a danger of physical harm, you MUST intervene.
  • Provide other avenues for your children to express their anger and frustration, and be sure to encourage separate activities and friendships.
Remember: We all want to be better parents - but kids don't come with an instruction manual.

When your teenager is too self-critical, here's what you can do:
  • Be honest. Validate the positive and acknowledge the negative. This is the only way your teen will trust you.
  • Develop an action plan with your teen: look for step-by-step improvements rather than solutions.
  • Be a good role model by accepting flaws in yourself and in others.
Remember: We all want to be better parents - but kids don't come with an instruction manual.
